Samsung’s new Q30 will hold the honor of being the first Solid State Disk (SSD) laptop in the world. The Q30 SSD is hoped to usher in a new generation of laptops that have a much higher performance rate than its hard drive-based counterparts. The SSD has read/write performance figures of 53MB/s and 28MB/s, which are 300% and 150% faster than hard drives respectively. A SSD-based laptop has numerous advantages such as lower power consumption, greater durability, a smaller size, quieter operation, and a much faster speed. The rest of the Q30 SSD’s specifications include a 12.1″ display, an Intel GMA 900 graphics chipset, and an Intel Celeron M753 1.2GHz processor.
