Sharp’s new SP700 portable media player has bolted out from the stable doors at the KES 2006 event. What can we expect from a company that rarely produced devices in this genre? The SP700 comes with a 4.3″ widescreen color display, a 30GB hard drive, an SD memory card slot, a built-in dictionary, as well as DMB functionality to keep you hooked to your favorite serials no matter where you are. One can only wonder whether such a multi-faceted device will ever make its way out of Korea and Japan, as with numerous cellphones released in the Far East.
