Xceive Corporation and Trident Microsystems have gone to bed together in the effort to create the “highest integrated USB Bus-powered TV reference board”. There will be three different designs available to cater for a trio of market segments which consist of analog tuner, hybrid DVB-T, and hybrid ATSC needs. Some immediate benefits from their partnership is the reduction of the number of chips required to manufacture the typical analog USB TV tuner from four to just a couple. This means lower prices for consumers.
