Tangent’s new mini PC is known as the Rugged Mini, and is the exact opposite of the dainty Mac mini in terms of design. It might not come with the latest and greatest in terms of processing muscle, running on a mere Intel Pentium M or Celeron M processor, but reliability and robustness is the keyword in the Rugged Mini. This diminutive computer uses a miniature, dust-free, fanless chassis that ensures a virtually silent operating environment. You also won’t experience any downtime due to mechanical fan failure. This VESA compliant device also comes with WiFi connectivity, a 40GB hard drive, 512MB RAM, DVI-out and supports high definition displays. At $1,400, it is not cheap and that kind of money could be better spent on a mid-level notebook.
