
No, there’s no need to pick up the phone and give the SPCA a call just yet. What you see on the right is a USB Hamster Wheel that connects to your computer and reacts accordingly to your typing speed. The faster you type, the faster the hamster will run. Too bad the USB Hamster Wheel is not bus-powered, as you will still need to plug in a couple of AA batteries in order to get this ball of fur rolling. It is compatible with Windows-based PCs only, so Mac owners will have to look elsewhere for a desktop toy that is fun and useless at the same time. You can pick up this cute little critter for $44.98. Will this end up as a distraction at the office instead, with all the noise and fanfare generated? It’s your call. I personally prefer to boot up an old copy of Typing of the Dead to check my type rate.
