Clarion launches new navigation system

Clarion’s new NAX970HD navigation system looks more like a portable DVD player in its elongated, horizontal shape. This hard-drive based system is actually just the brains for the satellite navigation system, as it will complement the MAX675VD module which comes with a 7″ motorized touchscreen display, making it the largest screen size available in a 2DIN unit. The NAX970HD features a 30GB hard drive, a high-speed processor, and the ability to use an iPod, satelitte radio as well as other sources of input during navigation. The MAX675VD on the other hand boasts DVD playback, turn-by-turn voice guidance, 5.1 channel surround sound processing capabilities, and a TV tuner amongst others. The total damage for both the NAX970HD and MAX675VD is approximately $1,200.
