Being part of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) software design team does have its perks as Christopher Blizzard and his bunch of zany friends can attest. They installed the original FPS-defining title DOOM of iD Software fame on the OLPC XO prototype, and it ran like a dream. The bunch of nerds-at-heart were busy “testing” the OLPC XO by sending imps and CyberDemon Lords back to the fiery pits of hell on a reflective dual-mode display. I guess word processors, spreadsheets, and even an Internet browser won’t be the killer application for the OLPC XO as DOOM will definitely hold the higher appeal for kids worldwide. You know what they say – all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
