Carrying a satellite phone around is pretty handy when your work requires you to travel from one end of the earth to another, but more often than not, satellite phones just look plain ugly when placed side by side with regular handsets from Motorola and LG. Globalstar’s foray with the GSP-1700 is as good as it gets for satellite phones, despite lacking features standard, everday cellphones take for granted such as a 2 megapixel camera. The GSP-1700 is the perfect phone for the global citizen, boasting coverage across 120 countries throughout the globe with a talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of 36 hours. No idea on how much it costs and when will it be available though.
