You don’t need to fork up that much money to keep track of where your teenager is by hiring a private eye – there is always the IonKids system which consists of a PDA device that comes with a standalone wristwatch. You can harness the watch on the child’s wrist (or ankle if you want to give a penitentiary feel to the entire exercise), using the PDA to keep track of where the kid is. Boundary zones can be customized, where the PDA will send an alert the moment our “hostage” leaves the designated area. The IonKids system is capable of monitoring up to four children at once and retails for $199. Will such a device really work with kids being so tech savvy these days? They’ll probably strap the watch on a dog and sneak out through the back door without you knowing any better.
