JVC claims to have the grand daddy of all home-theater projectors by dropping the DLA-RS1 projector which comes with a whole bunch of technological advancements in addition to a previously unheard of contrast ratio of 15,000 to 1 minus the need for dynamic iris and other artificial methods of enhancing the contrast. A 0.7″ full High Definition Direct Drive Image Light Amplifier chip does away with a mechanical spinning wheel, eliminating the rainbow effect in the process. You won’t be able to soothe your gadget appetite with the DLA-RS1 this Christmas as JVC will only release it in Q1 2007 for $6,295. In the meantime, let’s have a moment of silence for that 10,000:1 projector you just bought and told the whole world about.
