Online PC gaming on your TV coming soon

Gamers seem to have it tough, with so many platforms vying for their attention. First we have the ever-present home console scenario which is being spiced up this holiday season in a 3-way battle, followed by the PC gaming segment for hardcore gamers, and the handheld situation for fun, casual on-the-go gaming. Intel and Verizon aims to eat into the home console business by offering popular online PC games over TV sets, courtesy of PCs based on Intel’s Viiv technology. The Verizon Games on Demand service will use Windows XP MCE 2005-powered PCs to bring online PC gaming into your living room from just $4.95 monthly. Will the graphics of such games be dumbed down to cater for the majority who do not yet have a HDTV in their homes? You know what they say about choices – analyze, analyze, paralyze.
