SCI FI Tech had a reptile alert with the Pleo dinosaur robot from Ugobe dropping by their office yesterday. This artificial pet is truly autonomous, and hence you don’t have a remote control to let it do your bidding. Pleo comes with a full set of integrated sensors that are sensitive to both touch and sound, and will respond accordingly. Each Pleo is touted to come with an onboard software that adapts to your habits, so it will probably be a very slow dino if you do nothing but laze on your couch the whole day. The Pleo is currently available as a prototype, although the final version is not very far off. You can expect to bring home your very own dinosaur in spring next year for approximately $250.
