Robots and humans will work together in Tokyo come mid-December, with the Reborg-Q robot relying on teamwork with human security guards to keep the peace at AquaCity shopping mall. The Reborg-Q weighs in at a hefty 90kgs, measuring 130cm x 65cm x 70cm, and can be programmed to patrol a preset course automatically, while those who want a more direct approach can use a joystick to control it remotely. The Reborg-Q is smart enough to control elevators as well, enabling it to move between floors within a building. Features include 4 cameras for recording purposes, sensors that detect humans, water leaks, and fire, and AI that alerts its human masters of any suspicious activity via video footage. Each Reborg-Q costs $3,200, while implementing a system will set a company back anywhere between $8,500 to $17,000.
