The Nintendo Wii’s launch date is edging ever closer, and everybody has pretty high expectations for it even though the Wii comes across as a lightweight among the three next generation home consoles in terms of hardware specifications. One of the Wii’s selling points would be a back catalogue which consists of classic Sega games that made headlines back in the Genesis’ heydays. We aren’t talking about B-list titles here, but games that will definitely score points with proponents of retro gaming. Expect to see Sonic’s first outing available, along with other great titles such as Altered Beast, Columns, Ecco the Dolphin, Golden Axe (a cult favorite even to this day), Gunstar Heroes (fantastic graphics in this one), Space Harrier II, Toe Jam and Earl, Ristar, Dr. Robotnik’s and Mean Bean Machine.
