How many times have you talked on a cellphone, only to run out of juice at the most crucial moments? Telecommunications giant DoCoMo of Japan are currently working on a prototype of a hybrid cellphone that comes with built-in solar panels. There is no need for a battery of any sort, as this prototype works pretty much the way Superman operates – basking under sunlight in order to keep its energy reserves filled. Should DoCoMo’s prototype take off successfully, we would all be more than happy to harness the power of our sun while doing our bit to keep the earth green. Hopefully that day will come soon.
