Sony has launched the spiritual successor to the ultra slim X505 notebook by introducing the Vaio Type G. This super thin notebook comes with a 12.1″ display and weighs under a kilogram when placed on the scale with it’s carbon case, despite cramming in an optical drive. The Vaio Type G line of notebooks are available in Celeron, Core Solo U1300 or U1400 processors and feature a hard drive of either 40GB or 80GB in size. In addition, you also get both Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and a superior battery life of up to 12.5 hours in Stamina mode. You can pick up the Vaio Type G notebook in Japan when it is released toward the end of November. Don’t take our word for it’s lightness – just check out the hand lifting up the entire notebook effortlessly by its edge.
