Robotic pets are really something, and they won’t leave you with a sense of loss associated with normal, breathing pets that kick the proverbial bucket. The Teksta V2 Robotic Puppy looks very much like Sony’s extinct, er…discontinued Aibo, retailing for a fraction of Sony’s overpriced pup at $70. It might lack the smarts of the Aibo, but little Teksta is intelligent enough to come with voice recognition, as well as responding to touch and light cues. Audio capabilities include barking, whining, and whimpering. Each Teksta ships with a handheld translator that helps you to decipher what it is trying to tell you.
