R2-D2 can trace it’s ancestry to the U-Robo of Korea. This house-trained robot is powered by an Intel Pentium 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM to run all the tasks that it is supposedly capable of doing. Connectivity options come in the form of WiFi, Ethernet, USB 2.0 and RFID amongst others. There is a 6.4″ touchscreen display where you will be able to program the U-Robo from, or you can simply bark orders as it comes with voice recognition softwre. Motion and light sensors along with the assistance of an eight-axis motor greatly help this tri-pedal robot get around. No idea on how much it costs and what the limits of its servitude is though.
