Toshiba has a brand new 100GB 1.8″ hard drive that will ship from next month onwards, making it the largest capacity yet for its size. This tiny drive is capable of spinning at speeds of up to 4,200rpm and coincidentally is small enough to fit into an Apple iPod. We all know that Toshiba’s 1.8″ wonders currently occupy the insides of 80GB iPods, so what are the odds that the 100GB hard drive will make it to the 6G iPod? Perhaps Apple is keeping this hard drive under wraps for use with the highly secretive iPhone.
