LaCie d2 requires prints for access

Privacy is a very big thing these days, and LaCie has come up with a brand new external hard drive known as the d2 SAFE Hard Drive. The d2 has a capacity of 500GB and requires biometric authentication in order for you to access the data within. 128-bit AES hardware encryption is thrown into the mix for greater security. The d2 can be connected via USB 2.0, Firewire 400, and Firewire 800, making it comepatible with both Mac and Windows computers. You can store up to 10 fingerprints and 5 users as well as set the read/write rights to individuals. The LaCie d2 retails for $299 and will be available later this month.
