Recycled satellite radio in the works

A prototype of an in-car multimedia system has been unveiled, and what makes this different from other products on the market is the fact that it uses recycled television satellites which are good enough to overcome loss of signal problems that plague drivers whenever they drive through a tunnel. Should commercialization of such a product happen, Europeans would finally be able to receive in-car satellite radio services. This experimential system does not require a new satellite network, riding on the backs of existing satellite networks which are used to broadcast TV signals. Looks like going green doesn’t have to stop at cutting down consumption but finding creative uses for existing infrastructure as well.
