CES Unveilled – Shure was demonstrating the new SE Series of sound isolating earphones. As usual, they are as nice as they are comfortable to wear and there is something for (almost) everyone: prices range from $149 to $499 and performance varies depending on the number of internal speakers. We tested the SE420 at the (noisy) event, and the earphones do an amazing job at blocking outside noise. Note that sound isolation has nothing in common with sound cancellation: the Shure SE series are excellent earphones, not earmuffs.
