Toshiba Protégé R400 TabletPC

This laptop caught my eyes from far away and when I got close, I was not disappointed: it has a very nice and thin design thanks in part to its LED backlit display (LED backlighting provides a better image quality while using a smaller footprint). In case of lost and theft, the fingerprint reader provides a basic (similar to a password) security level. However, there is an additional option to encrypt the whole content of the hard drive.

The most interesting function however, is the wireless docking system that uses Ultra Wideband (UWB). Just by being in range of the station, the laptop is automatically connected to an external display (in mirror or dual-display mode), mouse and keyboard. We’ve been told that the video information is sent in an uncompressed format over the wireless link. It worked very well on the show floor.

If it had better graphics hardware than intel integrated graphics, it would by my dream think & light notebook.
