The Archos 604 WiFi portable media player wasn’t exactly the poster boy when it comes to performance, which is why Archos has learnt from their mistakes by introducing the 704 WiFi, whose existence was recently revealed y the FCC. Details surrounding the 704 WiFi is shady at best, but we do know that it comes with a “Mobile DVR” tag which offers some form of TV-centric functionality inside. The ability to surf the Internet wirelessly is also a boon, as casual users no longer need to lug around a notebook just to check out the latest movie showtimes via WiFi. Additional rumored specifications include WiFi connectivity and DDR2 RAM. There is no word on a release date yet, let alone the price.
