The amount of features that come with cellphones these days can be frighteningly long, making the habit of charging your handset regularly a necessity. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to be within the vicinity of an available power outlet. Ever wondered whether the principle of kinetic energy could be transferred over from watches to cellphones? A patent has been recently discovered for such a device, and thankfully for everybody, this device won’t be limited to just cellphones but other gadgets as well. I can see flash-based MP3 players and the Nintendo Wiimote being the biggest benefactors from such a patent. Hopefully the technology will be advanced enough for a commercial release within the next few years.
