Cellular Book to take off

Telecom Italia and Polymer Vision have agreed to manufacture a rollable display device that targets the global mobile market sometime this year. Based on the Readius concept, this Cellular Book will be used mainly for reading papers, books, as well as personal data. The Cellular Book measures smaller than the average cellphone and boasts a 5″ display with 16 levels of grey. You will need to unroll it before use, and will require the user to read it in brightly lit conditions as there is no backlight. Data will be sent to users via EDGE/UMTS. There is no word on pricing as at press time. With Vista’s SideShow ability to perform somewhat akin to the Cellular Book (albeit the much smaller screen), will this idea take off?
