The IM-Me text messenger from Mattel is a wireless texting device that helps keep your little ones safe from online predators who have no conscience whatsoever. Each purchase comes with a RF dongle which is connected to the USB port of a parental computer, enabling your child to text message her circle of friends who have already been added to your address book and are within the dongle range. Sounds pretty restrictive, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Being pink in color, it caters toward the female population more – hopefully Mattel will realize that even boys are preyed upon. The IM-Me will hit store shelves this summer for $64.99 a pop.
