Map-Star enters GPS fray

Map-Star is forging ahead with its new GPS navigation device despite the overcrowded market. The Map-Star will rely on Samsung’s 400MHz S3C2440 processor and Windows CE 4.2 to keep everything running smoothly in the background, while navigation software is supplied by Odyssey. You need not fret about getting lost as the Map-Star will come with the vaunted SiRFStar III GPS chipset. Additional features include a 4.3″ touchscreen color display, voice guidance in half a dozen languages, pre-loaded U.S. and Canada maps with over 1.5 million POIs, along with portable media player functionality. An SD card slot is provided for expansion options. The Map-Star will ship this month for $499.99.
