New lens technology for camera phones

Cameras on cellphones don’t exactly offer the best quality pictures, but that situation will soon improve with new technology from Varioptic. This new lens from Varioptic utilize a technique known as electrowetting, exploiting the way water forms a rounded droplet on a surface and going flat when some voltage is applied to it. Varioptic claims the new lens if more reliable than mechanical alternatives, boasting a shorter distance focus and faster speed when compared to a mechanical lens. High end camera cellphones sporting 3 megapixel lenses and above are the perfect recipients of this new technology.
