Robot catches snatch thief in sewer

Police in Korea successfully apprehended a fugitive snatch thief who was staking out within Seoul’s sewage system with the help of a small robot. The suspect was a 57 year old man who fled on foot after snatching a woman’s purse at a hospital, making himself scarce after escaping into the city’s sewage system. A 6-wheeled, camera-equipped sewage pipe inspection robot was then called to assist in investigation, and it successfully located the lost and freezing man after making a sweep. Apparently, he was suffering from hypothermia due to the near freezing temperature. Robot 1, Thief 0.
