Sony Ericsson engineers seem to have drawn some inspiration from Apple’s catalogue of computers when it comes to designing their most recent entry-level handset, the W51S. The front of this clamshell features a mesh-like appearance that brings back instant memories of the PowerMac G5 sans optical drive and USB ports. Apple loyalists will probably thumb their noses at this association, claiming it is nothing of that sort, but it all depends on perspective. Features of the W51S ain’t half bad for a budget cellphone, boasting a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.7″ color display, 120MB of internal memory, and a Memory Stick slot. Choose from black, gold, and pink colors when it is released on the Japanese KDDI network this spring at a yet unannounced price.
