The Tascam MP-GT1 holds the honor of being the first MP3 player that was designed specifically for musicians. It is, in essence, a mobile guitar trainer that comes with enough memory to hold up to 240 songs. You can learn new riffs by slowing guitar parts down, looping, and even eliminate certain parts. Such MP3 playback is achieved via Variable Speed Audition, slowing down the speed without changing the pitch. You can also pitch up or down the current song to match your guitar’s tuning. The MP-GT1 comes with an integrated tuner and metronome, a graphical LCD display, and a data wheel for navigation purposes. The Tascam MP-GT1 will be available in Japan at the end of this month onwards at an undisclosed price.
