Thermaltake Technology has launched the world’s first 1200W power supply by adding to the Toughpower line. Looks like we surely have come a long way since the days where 240W of power is sufficient for everyday use. The new Toughpower 1200W boasts an 8-pin PCE-E connector as well as half a dozen 6-pin PCI-E connectors to accomodate those running a quad GPU system setup. Although the 8-pin PCI-E connector is the next generation standard power connector for top-of-the-line video cards, it is backwards compatible with current 6-pin PCI-E connectors with the help of a converter. As in the immortal words of Palpatine, “Power! More Power!!!”
