Archos 204 refuses to do video

The Archos 202 will finally be getting an upgrade in the form of the 204. As with all new models, do expect some changes to the hardware specifications. The Archos 204 now comes with a 1.8″ 262k color display, support for MP3, WAV, WMA, and WMA DRM music files and a photo viewer. There won’t be video support with the 204 – something most players have these days. You can’t see that much anyway on such a small display, so toning down on the number of colors could help reduce the final price tag (which is still unknown). I personally think the Archos 204 isn’t much of a looker. C’mon guys, you just can’t rely on function alone to pull a player through as design plays a huge role in piquing one’s interest in the first place. Rumor has it the Archos 204 will be an Europe-only release.
