Intel has jumped onto the solid state drive bandwagon, hoping that future notebooks will do away with hard drives as solid state drives step in as able, more reliable replacements. The competition heats up with Intel offering 1GB to 8GB models, but it will take quite some time more (perhaps a couple of years) before prices become more affordable and capacities increase.
