LG launches wooden HDTVs

LG goes wooden on all of us with their new range of plasma display panels. Consumers are now spoilt for choice with a couple of models that come encased in wood, including a 60″ full HD (1080p, baby) model that will retail for €7,360 in Korea. The other four models consists of 32″ and 42″ LCDs, and 42″ and 50″ plasma display panels. All four feature TruM technology which offers double the quality compared to the previous generation of TVs. I presume the word ‘quality’ here is used in reference to the image and not build. With a call to conserve trees, is it really worth it to cut down more trees to dress up one’s TV?
