New CDMA handsets from HTC

One glance at the HTC S720 and P4000 and you would get a feeling of deja vu. We can’t blame you for that since the S720 is actually a CDMA version of the HTC Vox (also known as the S710) that was on display at 3GSM last month. The S720 will ship with Windows Mobile 6.0, while the P4000 (a CDMA model of the Hermes or Cingular 8525) comes with Windows Mobile 5.0 and an option to upgrade to version 6.0 if the carrier permits it. Canadians will receive the S720 and P4000 in Q2 via Telus, while those residing in North America will receive theirs in mid-year. Both handsets come with EV-DO Rev. 0, although their software can be upgraded to support Rev. A in the future.
