Fujitsu has raised the performance bar when it comes to notebook hard drives with the announcement of a 7,200-rpm 2.5″ hard drive. The 160GB model has been named a tongue-twisting MHW2160BJ, featuring a serial ATA 3.0 Gbit interface that offers a much faster performance compared to today’s notebook hard drives. Casual computer users won’t see any marked improvement with this new breed of hard drives, as Fujitsu is targeting the gaming community as well as those who want maximum performance from their hardware. Pricing details are unavailable, although Fujitsu will probably launch these new drives at the end of May.
