Remote and cellphone rolled in one

Word has it that Sony Ericsson is currently applying for a patent which involves a device that combines both the functionalities of a remote control and a cellphone. This is not exactly the newest idea on the planet, but it certainly helps us geeks who have way too many devices for our own good. The older ones among us who actually purchased digital watches with an infrared remote control will definitely be able to identify with the power we held on our wrists once. Hopefully Sony Ericsson will be alert enough to throw in MP3 playback functionality into the final package.
