JVC has released a device that can be hooked up to its own Everio HD Hard Disk Camcorder HZ-HD7, enabling users to create HD data discs in order to preserve their recorded memories on HD video clip files. Known as the Share Station, this device is capable of archiving HD video clip programs and files to both DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. Each 8,5GB dual-layer DVD-R disc can hold up to 40 minutes of full HD content, with the added ability of capturing digital stills in JPEG format. If you are looking for a high-capacity archiving solution without using a computer, the JVC Share Station fits the bill at approximately $400.
