The most secure HDD from Seagate yet

Seagate has finally released the 2.5″ Momentus 5400 FDE.2 (full disk encryption) hard drive that will be available in the ASI C8015+ notebook at the end of this month onwards. What makes this hard drive so special is the inclusion of on-the-fly encryption using chip acceleration, coupled with the presence of a fingerprint reader and other security add-ons in the notebook itself to provide one of the most comprehensive, secure working environments ever. All these additional features are reflected in the final price which is roughly 20% higher than other notebooks in the field. Seagate’s new hard drive supports security policies, remote management, and even checking and logging comformance, giving the user (and his/her employer) a greater peace of mind that sensitive data will not be compromised in event of theft or loss.
