Weather station in green goes green

Being a geek and environmentalist can be a paradox at times, since the devices we use everyday aren’t exactly the greenest machines on earth. Still, there is the occasional release which helps put a smile on Mother Nature. The John Deere 5-in-1 Weather Station is one of them for example. It does not come with any fancy pants LCD display to tell you the weather, using easy-to-read instruments instead that rattle off information like outdoor temperature (in Fahrenheit and Celsius, no less), wind speed and direction, wind chill, and rainfall total. This 7″ x 7″ gizmo is not only easy on the environment but your wallet as well with the $9.98 price tag, if you don’t mind the rather crude design.
