Sound cards from Creative Labs have been the most common denominator around (if you discount on-board sound chips) for years, and the Singaporean company has recently released the Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Audio notebook card which takes a page out of its predecessor, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS notebook card. This flagship model will be hooked up to your ExpressCard slot, so that rules out plenty of other people who are still using notebooks that come with a PCMCIA slot. Pricing details and availability are still unknown, so hopefully Creative will release it sooner rather than later. Are you willing to sacrifice the ExpressCard slot for a sound card or use it for something else?
