
The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition has finally been announced by Verizon Wireless and Research in Motion, and this dual-mode CDMA/GSM smartphone is capable of taking in a SIM card that switches between CDMA and GSM networks automatically, enabling users to experience voice coverage in 157 countries and email correspondence in 62. The 8830 features a media player, speakerphone, voice dialing, 64MB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, and BlackBerry push e-mail. The BlackBerry 8830 will be available on Verizon this May 14th onwards, with prices starting from $299.99 with a two-year contract.
