
A group of Scottish experts are currently cracking their noggins on speckled computing. Puzzled readers (such as I) will probaby wonder what the heck is speckled computing exactly? Well it is a self-powered, self-networking digital “speck” that is smart enough to collect volumes of data on patients, hence its namesake. These individtual specks will be able to form an impromptu network that can be programmed like ordinary computers – all you need to do is spray them directly onto a person.
