The electronic blackboard initiative in Mexico has been shown to boost childrens’ achievements at school, making the government mull over the decision to further augment this approach by offering e-books to all school going children. This initiative will be extremely ambitious and costly, but if it produces better students, that result alone augurs well for any country. I suppose the rest of us will have to look on in envy at Mexican children and their high-tech classrooms while we settle for the traditional white chalk on blackboard approach.
