Marvell has introduced its 88W8689 Bluetooth single-chip solution that boasts a Bluetooth Core Specification Version 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR)-compliant baseband, a radio frequency (RF) transceiver, and a worldwide FM radio receiver. This highly integrated device gives the user an advantage in enhanced data rates and extended range features at a lower cost while consuming even less power. Hopefully we’ll be able to see the 88W8689 chip make its way across various upcoming devices such as cellphones and portable media players when Q2 rolls around.
