The MicroTemp MT100 Keychain Thermometer from Spark Industries is one device that eschews the Windows mantra of ‘point-and-click’. All you ned to do is point it at the desired target (preferably devices and not people), and the infrared sensor will pick up the current temperature of the item. The range is pretty wide, ranging from -27°F (-33°C) to a few notches above the boiling point at 230°F (+110°C) without having you suffer from frozen or burnt fingers in the process. My puny brain can’t quite figure out the practical use this $24.95 gadget has for an average Joe, so will you guys kindly help me out here?
