Samsung is working on a new 24″ LCD panel that utilizes an LED backlight used in monitors in order to deliver stunning color quality that is often found the highest quality TVs. The LED-backlit monitor panel features a color saturation level of 111% (of NTSC standard), a vastly superior number to the 72% we see on conventional monitors. Production will begin later this quarter, so don’t expect to see commercial availability anytime soon. There is no word on pricing, either, but logic dictates it should cost a premium over an ordinary 24″ counterpart.
