Other World Computing (OWC) has recently released a 160GB palm-sized portable hard drive that lays claim to being the world’s fastest in its class. Dubbed the Mercury On-The-Go hard drive, it runs at 7,200 RPM and hooks up to your computer via USB 2.0 or FireWire 400/800. In addition to offering a reasonable amount of storage space, you also get copies of backup software along with the hard drive. The OWC Mercury On-The-Go 160GB portable hard drive retails for $280. It is interesting to note that the 200GB version runs at a much slower 4,200 RPM.
